Where is the best place to plant a young Cherry Blossom plant in Hawaii?

I recieved a about 3ft young cherry blossom plant from a local florist in Hawaii. The plant is cut at the bottom so it doesn't have roots, I want it to live but idk where is the best place to plant it in the sun or shade. Most websites say sun but the Hawaii sun might be too hot, is their anyone that can help?
